GFI has distributed ceiling fans to climate-affected school children in Bangladesh

Project Name: Help Educate 27 Climate-Affected Children Initiative

Project Overview

The “Help Educate 27 Climate-Affected Children” initiative aims to provide educational support to children impacted by climate change in Bangladesh. Through this project, the Green Fund Initiative is committed to creating a conducive learning environment for climate-affected children, ensuring they have the necessary resources to pursue their education despite the challenges posed by environmental changes.

Objective of the Activity

One of the primary concerns during the summer months in Bangladesh is the extreme heat, which can create a significant barrier to children’s ability to concentrate and learn effectively in the classroom. To address this, the Green Fund Initiative made it a priority to improve the school environment by providing much-needed infrastructure support.

Recent Progress

In line with our project’s goals, we successfully distributed 10 ceiling fans to a local school in Jamila Memorial School, Netrokona to combat the intense summer heat. This school serves as the learning center for the climate-affected children we are supporting through this project.

Details of the Distribution

  • Date of Distribution: September 03, 2024
  • Location: Jamila Memorial School, Kendua, Netrokona, Bangladesh
  • Number of Ceiling Fans Distributed: 10
  • Purpose: To provide a comfortable classroom environment during the hot summer months, thereby improving student concentration and attendance.

Impact

The installation of the ceiling fans has already made a noticeable difference in the classrooms. Teachers have reported that the fans have significantly reduced the heat, allowing the students to focus better on their studies. This immediate improvement in the learning environment is expected to contribute to better academic performance and increased attendance during the hot months.

Additionally, the students and staff have expressed their gratitude for this much-needed support, which they believe will positively impact their daily school experiences.
