Advancing Resilience Among Women in Climate-Affected Zones
Women residing in climate-affected regions confront amplified vulnerabilities stemming from the uptick in natural calamities, escalating sea levels, and shifting meteorological conditions. Their access to vital resources like land, finance, and technology is often constrained, impeding their capacity to respond to climate shifts. Additionally, entrenched cultural and social norms may curtail their involvement in decision-making and constrain economic prospects. Insufficient awareness and understanding of climate-resilient techniques and technologies further compound these challenges.
This project focuses on enhancing climate resilience among women in areas of Bangladesh that are significantly affected by climate change. By providing training, resources, and support, the project aims to empower women to adapt to environmental changes, improve their livelihoods, and play a crucial role in community resilience and sustainable development.
To enhance their skills and capabilities, we organize training initiatives focused on climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable livelihoods, and disaster readiness. Collaborating with our partner, WEDO, we facilitate women’s access to customized financial services, agricultural resources, and technology. Our efforts include advocating for and fostering women’s involvement in community decision-making and leadership through workshops and advocacy campaigns. Furthermore, we establish women’s groups and networks to promote knowledge exchange, provide mutual assistance, and foster collaborative initiatives.
Join us in supporting the climate resilience of women in Bangladesh’s climate-impacted areas. Together, we can empower women to lead the way towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
