Join the Fight to Save the Fishing Cat

We are calling on your support to help save the fishing cat, a remarkable yet endangered species struggling to survive due to habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and illegal trade. The fishing cat (Prionailurus viverrinus), listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, is found in Bangladesh, a key region for its conservation. With your help, we can ensure the survival of this extraordinary species and protect the ecosystems they depend on.

The fishing cat is a rare wild feline that thrives in aquatic environments, displaying incredible hunting skills. Unfortunately, their numbers are rapidly declining as their natural habitats are destroyed, and they are captured by poachers. This project aims to tackle these threats through a multifaceted approach, including:

-Habitat Protection: Expanding and creating protected areas for the fishing cat.

-Community Engagement: Raising awareness and building village-based committees to safeguard the species.

-Rescue & Rehabilitation: Rescuing fishing cats from illegal capture, providing treatment, and rehabilitating them for release.

-Research & Monitoring: Conducting vital research and tracking populations to improve conservation efforts.

-Advocacy & Policy: Collaborating with local stakeholders and advocating for stronger protections for the species.

Your donation will directly support these efforts and contribute to the long-term survival of the fishing cat. By protecting this species, we also protect the integrity of the ecosystems they inhabit, enhancing their resilience against climate change and natural disasters.

Together, we can make a lasting impact on the future of the fishing cat and ensure that this unique species thrives for generations to come.
