Water and Sanitation Initiative for Climate-Resilient Communities

The Water and Sanitation Project aims to address the critical water and sanitation needs of communities in Bangladesh severely impacted by climate change. This initiative focuses on providing access to clean water, improving sanitation facilities, and educating communities about sustainable water management practices. The ultimate goal is to enhance the resilience of these communities against the adverse effects of climate change.

Water Scarcity: Climate change has led to erratic rainfall patterns, prolonged droughts, and increased salinity in water sources, causing severe water shortages. Poor Sanitation: Many communities lack basic sanitation facilities, leading to health issues and environmental degradation. Lack of Awareness: Insufficient knowledge about water conservation and sustainable practices exacerbates the problem.

To tackle these challenges, Green Fund Initiative, in collaboration with WEDO, OVWS, and UERD, has established innovative, eco-friendly, and economical removable long-run latrines for 312 families in coastal and haor regions of Bangladesh. Additionally, Green Fund Initiative installed 10 tube wells and 14 deep tube wells for affected families. We also conducted handwashing training for approximately 1,500 primary school children across 10 schools and provided stakeholder training on toilet use, benefiting 450 women

Join us in our mission to provide clean water and proper sanitation to those in need, and help build a resilient future for the climate-impacted communities.
