Why Clean Water Matters
Access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation is essential for healthy, resilient communities. Yet millions of people around the world continue to face unsafe water sources, inadequate sanitation, and poor hygiene conditions.
In Bangladesh, these challenges are particularly severe in communities affected by climate change, flooding, drought, salinity, arsenic contamination, and other environmental pressures.
Green Fund Initiative works with vulnerable communities and local partners to improve access to safe drinking water, promote sanitation and hygiene, and build sustainable water solutions that strengthen climate resilience.

Safe Drinking Water
We support practical solutions that bring reliable sources of safe drinking water closer to vulnerable communities, including water purification systems, Water ATMs, deep tube wells, and other locally appropriate solutions..
Water & Climate Resilience
Flooding, drought, salinity, changing rainfall patterns, and other climate pressures can affect access to safe water. We support solutions designed around local environmental conditions and community needs.
Sanitation & Hygiene
We promote handwashing, safe sanitation, hygiene awareness, water safety, and healthy practices through community and school-based activities. We empower families and students to adopt healthy habits daily.
Community-Led Solutions
We engage communities, local leaders, schools, and partners to identify water challenges and develop solutions that communities can manage, maintain, and sustain for the long term and build strong capacity.
Our Approach
We believe sustainable water solutions begin with understanding local needs and continue through community participation, education, implementation, and long-term management.
1. Assess
We identify communities facing significant water and sanitation challenges and assess their needs, environmental conditions, and existing water sources.
2. Engage
We work with community members, local leaders, schools, partner organizations, and other stakeholders to develop appropriate solutions.
3. Implement
We support practical interventions such as water purification systems, Water ATMs, deep tube wells, rainwater harvesting, and hygiene education.
4. Educate
We combine infrastructure with awareness and education so that people understand safe water handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
5. Sustain
We promote community ownership, local management, training, and maintenance to help ensure that water solutions remain useful beyond the initial project period.
